Job Description

Brand Strategy Lead

This role will report into the Head of Brand and will be responsible for the development and implementation of a multi Brand strategy that will help us achieve our ambition of doubling the size of our business and becoming a best loved brand. Working in a team of six, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing a robust master brand strategy and building a consistent and effective brand story that plays out both externally for our customers, as well as internally for our people.
  • Work with cross functional teams to facilitate and support the delivery of our master brand story cohesively across the wider business and through all brand communications.
  • Work collaboratively with the strategy and insights team to monitor brand tracking and interpret insights to inform and refine our long term brand strategy.
  • Directly involved in the creation of our long term multi brand strategy, by being responsible for the positioning and creation of new brands / brand identity to help unlock opportunities within new segments and deliver our growth ambition.
  • Management of the overall brand portfolio architecture, including brand principles, brand values and purpose, creation of "higher purpose" and strengthening our core brand identity.
  • Driving branding theory and practice to achieve disruption within the industry and delivering true differentiation of our competition.

Job Purpose Responsible for working closely with key stakeholders in the creation of actionable strategies that ensure we achieve our overall company goals. Gathering internal and external data to build a rich but concise picture of our operating environment to inform key strategic business decisions. This includes working with relevant internal and external experts in the strategy development process. As well as providing expertise as an internal consultant.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management
  • Manages and delivers required outcomes for a project while reporting to senior colleagues.
  • Strategic Planning & Development Development of strategic plans in pursuit of organisational objectives for growth, identifying new opportunities, efficiency improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Policy Development & Implementation Develops procedures for area of expertise with guidance from senior colleagues, then monitors implementation of those procedures within the organisation.
  • Leadership and Direction Develops and/or delivers a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.
  • Improvement / Innovation Identifies shortcomings, then suggests and implements improvements to existing business practices, while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organisation's change management program with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Document Preparation Writes and edits materials for a variety of target populations, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each audience.
  • Monitoring Keeping abreast of industry trends and external market influences.

Technical Skills

  • Project Tracking and Reporting
  • Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on measuring and reporting progress toward intermediate targets to make sure a project stays on track to achieve its ultimate goals.
  • Negotiation Negotiates without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on how to help the organisation by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests.
  • Assessment Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to analyse data from multiple sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.
  • Customer and Market Analysis Conducts research and analyses data with guidance (but not constant supervision) in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of customer and market conditions that enables maximum return on investments.
  • Project Management Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while guiding and training others on managing projects and/or programs within desired cost, time and quality parameters.
  • Action Planning Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
  • Critical Thinking Works without supervision to breakdown complex problems and simplify into clear actionable strategic recommendations
  • Planning and Organising Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on planning, organising, prioritising and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
  • Commercial Acumen Applies understanding of the business environment and objectives to develop solutions without supervision, while also providing technical assistance when necessary.
