Systems Accountant (Property Opex) - Contract - Berkshire

A leading Telecommunications Service Provider is implementing a new business wide system to replace a number of legacy systems and require a Systems Accountant to support this system implementation from a finance perspective.

This will involve:

• Liaising and coordinating with 3rd party service providers and Internal stakeholders.
• Managing the testing and testing schedules by defining and configuring rules, logic and reporting to deliver new system functionality to the project.
• Development of best practice processes with governance and controls including project documentation and maximising efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Implementation Define and configure rules, logic and reporting to deliver new system functionality to the business with focus on accounting, finance reporting and payment capabilities.
• Investigating, identifying and resolving data migration and testing issues. Analyse datasets to identify patterns to support the development of new/current business logic.
• Liaise with system customers, owners and providers, business leaders and teams, external stakeholders to coordinate project plans and testing.
• Monitor system implementations with a focus on stability and data quality with continual improvement. Ensuring the business logic is compliant with UK GAAP standards.
• Develop, implement and document Best Practice financial processes, systems and controls over the Property expenditure, including the remediation of any control weaknesses identified.
• Excellent understanding of Financial Accounting (mainly Accruals, Prepayments, Indexation, Payment processes and Balance Sheets).
• Good understanding of IFRS 16 Lease Accounting.

Relevant Experience:

• Proven track record of delivering finance process and system change within IT change projects.
• Experience of a commercially focused financial role in Property.
• Property industry experience
• Budgeting and forecasting experience
• Agresso ERP application software
• IFRS 16 accounting standard
• Accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Able to understand and interpret complex ideas.
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
