Accounting Manager - Fixed Assets

Role purpose:

The role will be responsible for all aspects of Fixed Asset accounting and reporting to ensure that complete and accurate information is provided to internal stakeholders and shareholder's Fixed Asset teams.

The imcubent will also be required to own the team road-map to continuously review, develop and implement change to improve the current End to End process to increase accuracy, improve financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant Accounting Standards (inculdingIFRS)

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

up to 10 key activities undertaken in this role

o Accountable for service excellence and improvement roadmap and the team for:

o Implementing and ensuring compliance with the corporate Fixed Asset Policy and Processes

o Risk management and Internal Controls Framework for capital expenditure cccounting

o financiale Fixed Asset management

o Leading a team of 2-3 to provide timely and accurate CapEx reporting and the associated processes (e.g.):

o Inventory accounting and valuation

o Sub-ledger review

o Accruals accounting

o Cost Capitalisation process

o Fixed Asset creation for the business and shareholders

o Depreciation calculations and reporting for multiple depreciation policies

o Asset disposals and write offs

o Asset transfers

o Preparation of Fixed Asset movement schedule for Shareholders and Statutory reporting

o Relevant Balance Sheet reconciliations

o Assess the effectiveness of the stock procurement and stock turnover and liaise with shareholders and internal logistics teams to:

o Calculate and Report on stock turnover

o Ensure effective action is taken to address slow moving items

o Forecast stock write off

o Collobrate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure:

o Appropriateness of project structure and system reporting dimensions for enabling effective Fixed Asset management

o Accurate reporting and active monitoring of Assets under Construction (AUC)

o Timely completion of Balance Sheet reconciliation and effective resolution of outstanding items

o Manage, train and develop the other team members

o Provide support during audist support.r.t. querries related to Capex and Fixed Assets

Provide relevant ad hoc analytical and advisory support on various projects in a timely manner
