Job Description

Work for a high profile global Broadcasting/TV company that offers great career development and training opportunities.

Offers a competitive salary package, a flexible 35-hour working week for work-life balance and 26 days holiday with the option to buy an extra 5 days, a defined pension scheme and discounted dental, health care, gym and much more.

Excellent career opportunities for employees to seek new challenges and work in different areas of the organisation and unrivalled training and development opportunities.

They offer a hybrid way of working once restrictions are lifted of 1 or 2 days a week in the office, and the rest Working from home. The role can be based out of any of their offices in London, Salford, Cardiff or Glasgow.

What they can offer

  • Autonomy - although the overall ambition is guided by product roadmaps and OKRs, many of their research briefs are self-generated
  • Breadth and variety of projects working across some of the most visited digital services in the world
  • A good work/life balance, hybrid agile working, flexible days in office and from home

What the role will be doing:

As a UX Design Researcher, you'll be working as part of a small squad that looks after the needs of several products. The research run varies in size, scope and complexity - so you'll be comfortable juggling a few projects at a time with the support of your squad colleagues and squad lead. Some projects you'll lead, some you'll collaborate on, and occasionally you might commission an external agency.

On a typical project, you'll:

  • Lead projects through all stages of the research process from briefing and proposal formulation, to set up, fieldwork, analysis and insight sharing.
  • Clarify foggy projects by working with stakeholders to better understand their research needs.
  • Draw on your knowledge of a range of methodologies to make recommendations on the best approach.
  • Coordinate project set up - sample definition, recruitment, stimulus creation, discussion guide etc.
  • Organise and run fieldwork. Analyse data and draw insights. Present your findings to stakeholders.

What experience is needed:

  • Research experience, able to move a project through all stages of the research process (defining the brief, formulating the research methodology, aligning stakeholders around the proposal, setting up fieldwork moderating/facilitating, analysis, output/debrief writing and presentation)
  • Ideally already researching digital products but this company are open to transitioning someone who is an experienced researcher in another field
  • We welcome different research specialisms within the team (for example, behavioural researchers, service design researchers, branding researchers) but it's helpful to have been exposed to a range of research methods such as individual depth interviews (IDIs), focus groups, ethnographic/behavioural/contextual research, usability research, surveys, diary studies, research communities
  • You're comfortable advocating for the user and their needs. You'll enjoy building empathy with different kinds of stakeholders, flexing your approach to achieve the best results.
  • You've probably worked alongside designers and business analysts to discover requirements in complex environments, and are happy and capable running multiple projects at once. You enjoy teaching others, and helping teams get more from research.
