Job Description

This is for a support engineer/ system administrator position looking after Solaris/Linux environment including virtualised servers, backup, patching etc.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain, support, develop and design cloud environments.
  • Ensure the integrity of high availability cloud infrastructures to provide maximum performance for users and the public
  • Deploy IaaS virtual machines (VMs) and Cloud services
  • User and identity management
  • Monitor & Configure auto scaling including triggers and alerts
  • Liaise with development team
  • Assist with migration of workloads from local cloud to cloud tenancies
  • Provide training, technical advice and direction to other members of the team

Skills/Experience:

  • Experience of developing, managing and maintaining IaaS and PaaS cloud environments.
  • Automating cloud services, scaling cloud services and monitoring using of cloud network and services
  • Experience migrating workloads from private cloud to Azure.
  • Level 8 qualification in a relevant computing and/or computational discipline and/or at least 2 relevant professional qualifications/certifications completed in the last 5 years (which may include but are not limited to: Azure Certified Architect - Associate (or above), CompTIA Cloud essentials , Microsoft MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, Microsoft other (MTA, MCSA, MCSD, MCSE), CISSP, CCNA.
