System Administrator

We are currently looking for a System Administrator for one of the European Institutions based in Brussels.

Tasks:

Install, connect, configure, maintain, manage & administer, move and / or decommission as needed all ICT infrastructure.

In particular

Operational management of the ICT production environment:

• Debugging and analysing of reported problems and escalated incidents.
• Direct intervention on ICT infrastructure (servers, workstations).
• Preparation and test of new reference configurations (CRB) for any supported hardware, integration & testing of new software versions, service packs, configuration changes.
• On-site installation/migration/repair missions.
• Operate in accordance with the defined ITIL processes and procedures (incident, change, problem, etc)
• Participate in the 2nd Level on-call standby service.

Operations Role:

• Validation and testing of new procedures before release.
• Development of scripts to improve central management and control facilities (central alerting, central logging, central security polices implementation ...).
• Drafting of procedures, installation notices and scripts for the integration, installation and upgrade of services.
• Participate in the 2nd Level on-call standby service.

Project Management Role:

• Assistance with the roll-out of new ICT infrastructure projects.

Skills:

Diploma or Bachelor / Master Degree, preferably in IT

Min 4 years of experience as System Administrator

Strong experience in an Enterprise environment

In-depth knowledge of Monitoring tool SNMP

Proven experience in deploying and managing Windows environments, including Windows Server 2003/2008/2012

In-depth knowledge of Back-up tools (NetApp, Symantec Back-up Exec, Windows DRP tools …)

In-depth knowledge of Storage tools (NetApp, DAS, FAS, NAS, SAN …)

In-depth knowledge of Virtualization (V-Sphere 3 to 5 and VMware tools in general)

Understanding of TCP/IP protocol and related services in a Windows Server environment (DNS, DHCP, WINS);

Fluent English (written and spoken)

Certifications:

ITIL v3 Foundation certification.

One certification related to Server (ex: MCSA/E, MCTIP) or Storage or Virtualization or Linux.
