SOLARIS ENGINEER - REMOTE WORKING - 6 MONTHS CONTRACT

Leading Managed Services Provider in the Defence Sector require a Solaris engineer with proven experience in an implementation / support role at 2nd /3rd line level to work within the UNIX Infrastructure Support Team within the Data Centre Tower based at our high profile customer site in Telford, Shropshire.

Working with a mixture of SOLARIS versions (8 to 11), you will be required to provide operating system support and maintenance for SOLARIS based systems. You will have significant Solaris 10 & 11 & Oracle hardware experience and we will require very strong working knowledge and current experience of the operating system, the ability to produce UNIX scripts and knowledge of Cloud computing principles to support the team's aims to manage, monitor and maintain our services and particularly our cloud service offerings.

**A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered**

Duration: 6 months + possible extension

Location: Remote working

Experience

• Proven experience in an implementation / support role at 2nd /3rdline level
• Significant Solaris 10 & 11 & Oracle hardware experience
• OEM Ops Center
• UNIX scripting skills
• Knowledge of Linux (SUSE, RHEL or OEL)
• Good understanding of Storage, Networking & Cloud computing technologies

Certifications:

Oracle Solaris 11 System Administration (Or the Solaris 10 equivalent)

Oracle Solaris 11 System Advanced Administration (Or the Solaris 10 equivalent)
