My client, based in the Hertfordshire area, are one of the leading telephone, television and internet services providers in the world with 27 million customers around the world. They looking for a Senior Web Application Developer to join their Digital Design & Development Team.

About The Role

In this role, you will be creating brilliant technical designs for their developers and deployment teams while collaborating closely with architecture and product teams, to understand and shape requirements, based on thorough technical knowledge you will lead developers in following best practice ensures they are designing secure maintainable solutions.

You will need to have a wide breadth of technical knowledge, covering software and infrastructure design. Also having plenty of hands-on experience, but specialize in creating clear designs for secure, maintainable, scalable and extendable systems.

• Designing software systems
• Developing proof of concepts
• Assisting architecture and product teams
• Researching and recommending new technologies
• Defining design standards
• Keeping up to date with best practise and tools
• Enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment, often with tight deadlines

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree in Computer science, electronics engineering, computer systems engineering or similar
• 7+ years' experience, with sound programming fundamentals - designing and building secure, scalable software platforms, according to modern design principles
• Thorough knowledge of modern deployment techniques and cloud infrastructure
• Good understanding of data and security best practise
• Background in PHP, Node.js or similar
• Kubernetes / Docker
• Database schema design
• Micro services design
• Archimate
• Swagger
• TOGAF
• Terraform, Helm, CI, CD
• IAM technologies
• Google Cloud Platform
