Job Description

Senior Insights Manager, Climate Tech

FTC March 2024

London EC4 / Home

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Insights Manager (Climate tech) to join our busy team.

Climate change is the most pressing challenge facing humanity and we continue to see its impacts, including frequent extreme weather events, displacement of vulnerable populations, increase in temperatures, wildfires and droughts, reduction of wildlife populations and biodiversity, lower agricultural yields, sea-level rises and daily loss of forest.

The ClimateTech programme works to unlock the power of digital technology in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), to enable their transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient future. We do this through the collective support of the mobile industry, as well as public and private actors.

Through our research activities, we identify, promote and inform opportunities for digital innovation. Developing pathways for aligning climate action with the sustainable development agenda. We also catalyse vital partnerships between us, the mobile industry, tech innovators, governments and the development sector. Aiming to reduce fragmentation, facilitate scale and promote collective action.

The Senior Insights Manager (Climate tech) will lead the insights function of our ClimateTech team to deliver new and persuasive research that identifies, promotes, informs and advances digital innovations that enable low- and middle-income countries to transition to low-carbon and climate-resilient economies.

The Senior Insights Manager (Climate tech) will formulate our learning agenda and lead programme's research function via work with external contractors as well as through your own research efforts. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality research output in an actionable format. You will ensure that ClimateTech is positioned as the industry leader and key collaborator on the topic of digital technology's role for achieving environmental sustainability. You will present the research findings and output at a range of external and internal events.

The Senior Insights Manager (Climate tech) will work closely with a broad range of external stakeholders (e.g. mobile operators, technology vendors and institutional actors), as well as with internal stakeholders within the programme.

To achieve results, you will use your outstanding ability to explain technology concepts to non-tech audiences. You will also be able to clearly present strategic view, commercial rational, global best practice and viable business models for stakeholders. You will do so through a variety of formats and channels, including face-to-face presentations, adapting to your audience needs.
