Senior Build & Test Developer - Oracle/PostGres/AWS

Senior Build & Test Developer - Oracle/PostGres/AWS is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 6 months rolling contract, to be based remotely from home.

Responsibilities & Skills:

• The successful applicant will be a Senior/Lead Build and Test Developer specialised in Oracle/PostGres with AWS migration experience
• Must have AWS Migration experience
• Writing scripts to access Oracle databases
• Writing scripts to update access Postgres databases
• Microsoft Visual Studio V6.0 and later (or Makefiles)
• Contributing to decisions relating to the approach to migrating the test scripts to integrate with Postgres instead of Oracle
• Contributing to decisions relating to the approach to automation of execution and checking the results of tests as the project migrates to the cloud
• Setting up of development test environment and diagnosing issues
• Windows scripting skills
• The ability to plan and conduct thorough testing and investigate/identify whether test failures are caused by problems in the test environment or the components under test
• Clear reporting of test failures with supporting evidence to the development team through the project bug system
• Capable of working to tight deadlines
• Formally building and running a regression test suite before each component is released to an integration test team. Running regression test for the pre-ported components, defining regression test plans, producing test reports of the regression testing.
• The role will be suitable for a technical tester that can build software, develop and run tests and investigate issues
• Enhancing and maintaining: a development test rig, bespoke test tools, unit and regression test scripts, build & release procedures, release notes
• Liaising with other development teams to ensure the test rig is using the correct versions of components provided by those teams
• Producing new unit test scripts
• Running test scripts during the development process
• Problem and investigation and identification without always referring to development
• Contributing to the project plans
• Building automated tests
