Security Cleared* AIX Engineer (2nd Line/3rd Line/VMAX)

Security Cleared* AIX Migration Engineer (2nd Line/3rd Line/VMAX) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Client for a rolling 12-month home based contract.

Our customer is currently seeking an AIX engineer with proven experience in an implementation / support role at 2nd /3rd line level to work within the UNIX Infrastructure Support Team within the Data Centre Tower based for a high profile customer.

This role sits within a team that is responsible for the Live Service Delivery of all aspects of the core infrastructure managed by our customer. The team support Production, Disaster Recovery, Live Acceptance Proving, Test and Development services.

The key deliverable of this role will be to cover the expected demands of migrating Unix servers from VMAX1 storage, including AIX migrations.

You will be working with a mixture of AIX versions (5.3 to 7.2) and you will be required to provide operating system support and maintenance. You will have significant AIX hardware experience and we will require very strong working knowledge and current experience of the operating system, the ability to produce UNIX scripts and knowledge of Cloud computing principles to support the team's aims to manage, monitor and maintain services and particularly cloud service offerings.

Core Skills:

• Proven experience in an implementation / support role at 2nd /3rd line level
• Significant AIX hardware experience
• Strong UNIX scripting skills
• Good understanding of Storage, Networking & Cloud computing technologies

Certifications:

• AIX 7.x System Administration (Or the AIX 6.x equivalent)
• AIX 7.x 11 System Advanced Administration (Or the AIX 6.x equivalent).
