Security Cleared - Data Layer Platform Engineer (DevOps)

I am recruiting on behalf of a leading global IT Services company for an experienced Data Layer Platform Engineer. Candidates will need a level of security clearance, candidates without this clearance will also be considered.

This position will be office based (Croydon) 3 days a week.

My client is looking for someone with experience of:

• Developing CI/CD/IaC pipelines - Jenkins, Groovy, scripting and Terraform
• CI/CD for data layer technologies - Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Hbase, Ambari), Spark, Kafta, PostGres
• DFeployment of Data layer capabilty into Kubernetes based platforms using Helm, Docker, JSONnet, YAML

As Data layer platform engineer you will be required to work within the platform and services team.

You will need to have the following experience:
1. Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Jenkins, Groovy and Terraform.
2. Developing automation code and pipelines for many of the following technologies:
a. Big data technologies: Hadoop (HDFS, HBase, Hive), Spark, Kaftka
b. Datastores: Postgres
c. Deployment of data layer capability into Kubernetes based platforms using Helm, Docker, JSONnet, YAML
d. Experience of CI/CD/IaC for AWS
3. Documentation of code pipelines and implementation
4. Working within SCRUM based development projects.
5. Working within large government projects and programmes
6. Working with a tech lead who will carryout peer review and provide guidance and support as needed.

This is a key role working on an important project for the end client, and you will be solely responsible for your area.
