Job Description

Security Cleared Data Layer Platform Engineer (Big Data, Hadoop, Spark, Kaftka, CI/CD & AWS, DevOps) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 6 months rolling contract, to be based in Croydon, London, with 2 days home working.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • The successful applicant will be a Data Layer platform engineer with strong Big Data experience
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Jenkins, Groovy and Terraform.
  • Documentation of code pipelines and implementation
  • Working within SCRUM based development projects.
  • Working with a tech lead who will carry out peer review and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop CI/CD/IaC Pipelines - Jenkins, groovy scripting and terraform
  • CI/CD for data layer technologies: Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Hbase, Ambari), Spark, Kaftka, PostGres
  • Deployment of data layer capability into Kubernetes based platforms using Helm, Docker, JSONnet, YAML
  • Experience of AWS
  • Experience of working in a multivendor environment.
  • Developing automation code and pipelines for many of the following technologies:
    • Big data technologies: Hadoop (HDFS, HBase, Hive), Spark, Kaftka
    • Datastores: Postgres
    • Deployment of data layer capability into Kubernetes based platforms using Helm, Docker, JSONnet, YAML
    • Experience of CI/CD/IaC for AWS
