About The Company

My client, based in the Berkshire area, are one of the leading network, telecommunications and mobile technology companies in the UK. They are looking for a Risk Manager to join their Governance & Assurance function to be responsible for working with the risk owners from the different Business Circles to manage and identify risks and issues working in the Transformation program.

About The Role

Reporting into the Demand Manager, you will work in the Governance & Assurance function of the PMO, to play a part in identifying and capturing general risks which span the Transformation Program (i.e. resourcing, suppliers) and risks which then need to be are registered on the corporate register.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to create and implement strategies to mitigate these risks and issues
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience professional in the field of Information Risk Management
  • Seek to identify any improvements that can be made to the current risk and Issues management governance framework (used in Transformation Business Readiness Circle)
  • Make improvements to the framework and roll out to the other Circles within Transformation, the CORE IT stack, CORE Networks and Core Ran programmes
  • Oversee and develop comprehensive processes for identifying, monitoring, and managing pertinent business risks and Issues across the above mentioned programmes
  • Work with key business stakeholders (Circle Coaches / Leads) to identify Risk & Issues and drive the Circle Coaches to effectively manage those risks and issues within their own Circles
  • Build and maintain a high level of trust and credibility within the Transformation program, Networks program and Core IT program so key stakeholders are pro-actively logging and tracking risks
  • Owning and overseeing risk/issue logs, and following through on timely updates to keep logs an accurate representation of the programmes
  • Lead on improvements in the data quality, proactively identifying any issues and solutions. Ability to influence diverse stakeholders to address identified risks / issues
  • Co-ordinate risk & issue activity in all relevant business areas and establish a level of control consistency
  • Spread organizational awareness and facilitate on-going training of staff in JIRA risk plug in tool.
  • Drive the creation and distribution of Risk and Issue reporting/ dashboards to feed the relevant SteerCo boards in a timely manner and move towards real-time reporting.
  • Facilitating risk review meetings with leadership team and escalating risks to ensure mitigation or acceptance
  • Work closely with Enterprise Risk team in LCRA to ensure the correct and timely capture of Enterprise risks from the programs
  • In addition, you will play a key role in Large Scale Planning sessions (which happen every 8 weeks) to co-ordinate capture of all risks from these events (from c100 attendees) and to play the information back to key stakeholders
  • You will also be part of the Transformation Risk Committee who will review key risks across the Transformation program and may be required to prepare input / output for this session

Skills & Experience Needed

  • You will be an experienced PMO Analyst / Risk Manager who has experience of tracking & managing risks and issues across a large cross functional business (Transformation programs & CORE legacy programs)
  • Strong technical and people skills are equally essential as you will spend time working with senior cross functional stakeholders; displaying excellent relationship, influencing and all-round communication skills, demonstrating strong written and presentation skills
  • You will be used to working within a fast-paced medium to large company in complex design and development programmes and be able to understand and work with a technical and skill diverse team
  • Must be a self-starter with the capacity meet strict deadlines
  • Tenacious, flexible, passionate, resilient and results driven with a persuasive personality
  • Ability to juggle priorities, multi- task and flawlessly execute with pace
  • A strong background in project management and PMO analysis is mandatory
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when required
  • A working knowledge of PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies
  • Advanced in MS Excel
  • Solid MS PowerPoint and MS Visio skills to support strong analytical and reporting skills
  • A working knowledge of JIRA & Office Cloud is desired
  • Experience working in both Agile & waterfall environments
  • You will ideally be certified in some of the following - Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
