Job Description

Release Process Lead/Release Manager (Strategy) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Client, for an initial contract until 8th June 2021 (Home Working). To be successful you must have strong experience in migrations from legacy applications to Cloud (AWS).

Our client and their customer are undertaking a large scale migration from Data Centre to the AWS Cloud. The migration consists of the move of around 50 aged applications following a re-host, re-platform or re-factor approach in a phased manner. The main database is being moved from Oracle to PostgreSQL resulting in the weighting of application work being towards the re-platform or refactor. You will need demonstrable experience and a proven track record in a similar environment to make an immediate impact. Experience in agile, waterfall and hybrid methodologies will be an advantage.

    • Recommend specific changes in process and or tooling that will work in the context
    • Articulate and influence direction both to management and to teams
    • Build relationships with current release team and customer
    • Build requirements for future release approach
    • Challenge existing methods practices and constraints with solid experience but with sensitivity and reasoned arguments
