Job Description

Project People are supporting a Multi-Academy Trust based in Nottinghamshire who have schools based across the Midlands. The Trust are looking to appoint a Procurement and Contracts Manager from January 2020 (Part-Time or Full-Time).

This role is flexible in terms of hours, with 21.5 hours (Minimum) worked over 3 - 5 days, with some travel to other schools in the Trust. The option of working term time only and one day a week work from home is also an option for the right person.

  • Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (Full-Time) *Pro-rata for part-time hours

The successful person will be ensuring value for money, good quality services and resources across over twenty academies who are a part of the Trust. The landscape for school funding, coupled with the commitment to deliver educational excellence to the entire Trust places importance upon central functions such as procurement. You will play a key a pivotal role within the Trust, freedom to explore cost saving and quality improvement driven initiatives.

Working within the public arena, whilst applying commercial acumen, this role will review current contracts, prepare tender documentation and coordinate the evaluation of proposals and bids. The Trust has robust systems in place which you will be use and be able to develop further.

You will be working with a range of suppliers and internal stakeholders, therefore excellent communication negotiation skills are vital, alongside the knowledge to ensure the procurement process is fully compliant. This role is based at the MAT's Head Office, with other central services such as Estates and Premises Management, HR and Finance. The successful applicant will frequently meet with suppliers and collaborate with schools; therefore access to a vehicle is essential.
