Principal Cloud Solution Architect (Azure/Migration)

Principal Cloud Solution Architect (Azure/Migration) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Client, for a rolling 6-month contract to be based in Bracknell (3-days onsite/2-days from home).

We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with the infrastructure as code approach and running a project in this way.

The successful candidate will complement the existing Programme Director and System/Service Architects; someone who has experience of delivering an operating system that is based on Infrastructure as code paradigm.

You will be responsible for supporting the team in transforming operational practices:

• Take a continuous approach to design, implementation and improvement in delivery via implementation of continuous delivery practices such as continuous testing
• Empower the project and delivery teams to work in this way
• Establishment of key metrics and measures e.g. Mean Time to Recover (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), time to implement a change, number failed changes and works to improve this.
• Establish a workable change and release process that retains operation quality but uses automatic validation techniques
• Establish automated practices for patching, provisioning and infrastructure management
• Enable the application developers to self-provision their own infrastructure
• Work with the customer to effect change in their working practices
