Job Description

PMO/Release Manager (Service Implementation/Service Management/Application Delivery/Program & Project Support Office) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 5 months rolling contract, to be based in London, UK.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • The primary role of the Program & Project Support Office (PMO) Generalist is to apply effective PMO control to support successful project delivery.
  • PMO experience within Service Implementation/Service Management.
  • Someone who has worked in a Large Application Delivery Programme or where Comms is a key part of Current role.
  • Excellent communications with Internal & External Stakeholders & able to work in a pressured environment.
  • The PMO Generalist will apply PMO resource management alongside a consistent set of Project Management methods and processes.
  • Provides the day-to-day support across all PMO services aligned to the current assignment or business area
  • Effective management of the Project / Program & Portfolio Management Office Budget
  • Attends and contributes to regular meetings with other specialist areas such as subject champions and brings knowledge to their assignment
  • Controls and manages the resolution of any potential problems within any of the PMO services escalating issues as required to the appropriate Project or Program team members
  • Ensures own objectives are aligned to the Project or Program objectives
  • Actively supports the Program or Project in order to comply with any associated policies
  • Adheres to and supports the maintenance of the Portfolio Management Office Best Practice standards
  • Release & Environments Workstream
  • Develop a Comms Plan targeted to key activities/events within the Workstream - including releases to different environments on the route to live, releases/deployments relating to stores (new/cutover). Identifying the various activities/events that require proactive comms. The relevance of the activity/event to the stakeholders, including the business impact, risk, etc. Issue Communications as required in line with the agreed Plan
