Job Description
Paralegal
The Role:
The role is for a paralegal to join our client's office in London. The primary function of the role is to provide experienced and skilled in-house legal support to the various business areas within the Consumer Business Group. The role is dynamic and will involve providing support on a variety of matters relating to consumer electronics distribution, marketing and aftersales.
Responsibilities
Ÿ Drafting and preparing a wide range of legal documents, including commercial contracts, consumer terms/notices, non-standard agreements etc.
Ÿ Drafting and preparing reports, correspondence and letters.
Ÿ Researching laws and legal developments.
Ÿ Assisting with casework, including drafting statements of case and filing of documentation.
Ÿ Drafting and preparing advice on compliance with the client's business practices, policies, procedures and law.
Ÿ Responding to ad-hoc queries from other departments and providing appropriate solutions.
Ÿ Working closely with other lawyers throughout the client's European Legal Team and supporting Legal Counsel workload in the UK.
Ÿ Providing training and training material to business departments as necessary.
Ÿ Implementing legal policies and business practices.
Ÿ Interfacing with selected external lawyers as required.
Ÿ Practicing in European-wide or Global-wide initiatives as required.
Required Skills
Ÿ Relevant experience in either private practice or in-house.
Ÿ LPC qualification preferred.
Ÿ A strong understanding of consumer protection legislation, e-commerce and the legal aspects of channel management.
Ÿ Experience in litigation, civil procedure and document management.
Ÿ High-level legal drafting skills.
Ÿ Good organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Ÿ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ÿ Hard-wording proactive approach required.
Ÿ Creative thinking and problem solving.
Ÿ Ability to perform under intense pressure.
Ÿ Ability to multi-task according to defined priorities
