Role: OSS Technical Design Authority

Type: Contract until December 2023

Location: Reading/Hybrid

Context

• You will be responsible for technical governance of the OSS.
• OSS underpin the Design, Planning, Deployment and Operations of our Shared and Unilateral RAN and Access Transport Network.
• You will be responsible for the delivery governance of shared and unilateral projects in the OSS.
• Excellent knowledge of OSS and IT Architecture in the context of Mobile Operator will be required.
• You have a strong Technical Delivery background with proved experience in delivering complex OSS Transformations.
• You will engage at Technical and Management level
• You will be part of the OSS Team and report to the OSS Manager.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of projects in the OSS
• Accountable to gather business and technical requirements for the shared OSS and translate into technical solutions.
• Guarantee alignment of the OSS solutions to the OSS Strategy.
• Accountable for projects technical governance, to guarantee delivery in Time, Cost and Quality.
• Technical interface into MBNL and Ericsson for the governance of the unilateral demand into the shared OSS.
• Manage the demand into the OSS via the relevant Front Door Processes.
• Raise Front Door Requests and assess relevant Impact Assessments and Scope of Works in Time, Cost and Quality.
• Manage the communication with the internal stakeholders and with our business partners.
• Perform effective Stakeholder Management. Engage Stakeholders in planning and decision making, having regular updates and managing expectations.

Experience

• Proficient experience of OSS Architectures supporting Service Assurance (Performance Management and Fault Management), Service Management and Network Resource Management.
• Strong operational and design experience in the OSS domain, with advanced knowledge of OSS architectures and systems.
• Experience of leading OSS Transformation projects.
• Expert at requirements gathering and extensive experience of creating solution designs.
• Fluent in the use of TOGAF, ITIL and eTOM frameworks.
• Good knowledge of the Radio Access Network and Access Transport domains.
• Good stakeholder management skills.
• Good influencing, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills.
• Familiar with Project Management methodologies.
• Ability to deliver value to the customer and articulate plans through robust business cases.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise way, both verbally and writing.
• Self-development focussed, highly motivated and able to focus on the priority work within a rapidly changing environment.
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in an IT or Telecoms-related discipline.
