Network / Enterprise Strategy Architect - 3GPP 3G, LTE, 5G

Network Security Architect / Enterprise Architect - Mobile Telecoms - 6 month contract - Berkshire

Network services experience (voice, data, messaging) or Core Network experience is required.

Overview:

• This role will have a specific focus on the Technical Security Requirements (TSRs) and how these impact the company's Network Strategy and Architecture. Specific work items are being initiated within the company to achieve TSR compliance and this role will be a key part of this effort.
• To take part in the definition of the strategy for Network services and to lead and be accountable for the end to end architecture role on various strategic projects being led by the Network Strategy and Architecture team.
• Be accountable for the strategy and architecture execution via the appropriate solution delivery teams overseeing these projects through to delivery.

"Network" is defined as including devices, RAN, Core, transport (IP, transmission, security), service enforcement, service layer and OSS domains for the purposes of this job description.

Role:

• To take part in the definition of the strategy for Network services/ architecture. This includes justification through analysis, SWOT, proof of concept, business case etc.
• To challenge and gain support from the business for the network services strategy, adapting with future company aspirations.

- Architecture and innovation

• Accountable for the definition of the end to end Network target architecture to offer the best customer experience, performance, economics and revenue generating potential.

• Perform the end to end lead architecture role on various strategic projects being led by the Network Strategy team. The solution design on these projects may be handled within or outside of the team (with accountability and governance provided within the team).

• Ensuring strategy and architecture is executed via the appropriate solution delivery teams and overseeing it through to ensure that business benefit is realised.
• Technical governance of network architecture and services from the device extending to all the Network touch points.
• New technology awareness, evaluation and selection. Running or supporting vendor RFI and RFQ process.
• Lead and take part in trials of innovative technology, based on strategic needs.

Must Have:

• Excellent understanding of the standard 3GPP 3G, LTE, 5G Network Architecture.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of fixed/mobile networks and IP networks.

• Significant experience of operating in an Architecture role having end to end responsibility - spanning multiple technology domains.
• Most relevant technology domain expertise for this role is Core network, Service Layer, IP/Internet, Business Support Systems (BSS).

• Experience of working in a customer focused, technology based role.

• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.

• Ability to simplify analysis and present results clearly at all levels of the business.
