Job Description

Purpose

The core accountabilities for this role are:

Creation, production and delivery of structured reports and dashboards used for managing operations at business function levels executed either through ad-hoc reporting or based on agreed measures set against business KPIs in line with BI development standards

Continuous service improvement of BI products ensuring reuse is maximized and internal customer feedback on usability is acted upon across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Support the 5G end-to-end team in producing high quality visual reporting to help aid senior management decision making in relation to the programmes.

  • Create and deliver structured reports and dashboards used for managing operations across different business function through ad-hoc reporting or based on agreed measures set against business KPIs.

  • Engages with 3rd party suppliers and partners (where appropriate) to ensure business expectations are adequately understood and new visual representations and dashboards cover them effectively.

Delivers quick tactical BI and reporting solutions in alignment with strategic direction of the business as well as ensuring the fulfilment of steady business demand around predictable and periodic data reporting.

Role Fundamentals - Essential criteria

  • Strong knowledge and experience of BI infrastructure and tools; reporting and visualisation tools (especially MapInfo).

  • Proven experience of developing highly visual and intuitive management reporting.

  • Will have experience of working directly with partners to successfully deliver outcomes and will demonstrate an awareness of partner contracts.

Candidates should also demonstrate:

  • Will have clear subject matter experience of their area (both technical and commercial) and ability to connect and work across multiple domains. Can demonstrate knowledge of their area articulated through key operating elements of people, process and technology.

  • Will have a high level, broad end to end understanding of our business and it's operational performance and be able to demonstrate knowledge of working in a service orientated environment

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.), and database & big data technologies (e.g. ORACLE Exadata, IBM DB2, Hadoop) and programming languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python, SAS)

  • Experience in creating, producing and scheduling of structured reports and dashboards used for managing operations at business line levels as well as ad-hoc reporting.

a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field and 5 + years' experience in a BI developer role
