Job Description

Network Programme Director/Programme Lead (LAN, WAN, MAN, Public Sector, Telecommunication) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 8 months rolling contract (to be taken in 6 month stints), based in Manchester, Greater Manchester.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Must have Public Sector knowledge and experience
  • Must have strong experience of bidding and delivering large scale network based solutions
  • Must have strong Network skills/experience as a Programme Director (LAN, WAN, MAN)
  • Telecommunication skills/experience
  • The Programme Director will own the overall leadership and have the ultimate accountability for the successful delivery of the programme as programme Lead.
  • Owns the overall programme direction and vision in conjunction with the business unit and customer.
  • Accountable for the effective management of the projects or functional activities within the programme, their risks, issues, conflicts, priorities, resources and communications, ensuring delivery of the new capabilities and benefits. Is responsible for maintaining the linkages between the programme and the organisation's strategic direction, ensuring the contracted customer's strategy and business targets are met by the programme deliverables.
  • Owns the overall programme direction and vision in conjunction with the business unit and customer
  • Is responsible for ensuring the linkages are maintained between the programme and the organisation's strategic direction
  • Directs the Management of the production of plans for the delivery of the project/multiple projects in partnership with the customer and business area to ensure acceptance, closedown and handover to service
  • Has overall control of the programme implementation, with personal responsibility for the programme's achievement
  • Directs the management of the business and programme risks and ensures the production of an effective plan and risk assessment so that timescales and programme costs are understood and underwritten by all by the relevant stakeholders
  • Is accountable for directing the tracking of programme costs and supporting business units in meeting payment milestones
  • Agreement to and achievement of acceptance criteria and conformance to Business Delivery Reviews. Programme delivered on time, to budget and appropriate quality
