Leading IT Services Provider in the defence sector require a skilled Network Architect/Design Engineer (Live Action SME) to join their team in Bracknell

Your role
We are looking for a Network Architect/Design Engineer to join our Defence Network Architecture practice to work on delivery opportunities taking place within the secure Defence and Government sector. Your role will involve providing strong and relevant technical input within a project or bid team. You will be responsible for the network design and communication of structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs

Your experience
* Strong design engineering experience in utilizing technologies from global network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet
* Experience of delivering secure network solutions that conform to customer security accreditation processes
* Hold industry recognized network certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIS-ENT
* Possess SC/DV security clearance or is a UK National willing to apply for SC/DV security clearance.
* Have good communication skills and experience in working with multiple project stakeholders
* Experience of technical governance processes
* Experience and appreciation of need for input into delivery project plans
* Project awareness in relation to understanding risk and dependencies associated with a delivery project.
* Good written and communications skills, and strong evidence of production and governance of design artefacts (i.e. HLDs, LLDs, Build docs) during a solution lifecycle

Key Experience/ Skill for role

  • Live Action product experience
    * Ability to create MSA LLD and build guide for LiveNX virtual appliance, to include
    i. virtual appliance build
    ii. Standby operation in DC
    iii. Integration with AD
    iv. Integration with Cisco SDWAN
    * Ability to create/configure and test reports based on high level requirements.
    * Ability to create/configure and test performance monitoring from high level requirements.

Qualifications

Key Performance Indicators
* Makes a recognized technical contribution to business approval meetings.
* Consistently produces designs, which require minimal (<10%) rework, following peer review.
* Provides evidence that demonstrates defining the technical scope in order to ensure an acceptable cost structure.
* Can evidence feedback from customer forums, conferences and professional bodies etc. which demonstrates a personal contribution to building the clients reputation in the market place.
* Tangible recognition from customer management, the clients sales and project management staff, of an effective contribution to business development.
* Using company prescribed methodologies, can demonstrate the production of several medium scale designs, including some which are not based on an existing patter, or which have substantial customization and/or contain solution components from contributing specialists.
* Regular contribution to, and user of, company knowledge repositories and events.
