Security Administration Analyst

Security Administration Analyst required for a role with a leading Telecoms organisation.

Role Context

The Security Administration Analyst will be responsible for administering accounts, conducting account reviews and monitoring activity for all applications.

They shall enforce security processes and for all Enterprise systems regardless of platform. The position reports to the Security Compliance Lead, who will work in conjunction with the Security Administration Analyst to ensure principles of least privilege are maintained and that access control is maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures.

What Does the Role Involve?

Development and implementation of access control workflows.

  • Review of applications against security standards.
  • Audit configurations and collect evidence in support of internal and external audits.
  • Detect and analyse anomalous security events from relevant applications.
  • Develop standards, assess current usage and permissions, and then remediate deviations from standard.
  • Review and identify process IAM process improvements.
  • With minimal supervision, execute priorities, understand business applications, answer technical questions and perform all assigned tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and application stakeholders regarding security issues.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Security Compliance Lead.

Proposal & Skills Required:

The role will report in to the Security Compliance Function & key responsibilities:

  • Commence application account reviews for all applications in the companies UK estate.
  • Provide day to day support and administration of IT systems and applications
  • Cross working and collaboration on a daily basis with Operations Support team and other security administration teams across the company.
  • Work with a business process analyst to identify best practice and document and assist in documentation.
  • Mature the administration of accounts for applications and systems whilst performing live JML reviews based on daily leavers reports and monthly headcount reports.

The Security Administration analysts are required to have the following skills:

  • Min 1 years of hands-on experience in systems security administration or support role
  • Active Directory (querying), LDAP experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Experience of IAM products would be an advantage, but is not essential

Nice to haves:

  • Higher Education certification /Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent experience recommended.
  • Basic understanding of webservers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Jetty), operating systems (Redhat, CentOS, Windows), and Virtualised environments
  • Basic understanding of .Net (C#), Java, PHP, Eclipse, MS Visual Studio,
  • Certifications such as CISA
  • Telecommunications sector experience
