Material Planner - Logistics - Mobile Telecoms - Permanent - Berkshire
Hybrid - will need to be in Reading on average once a week
In a nutshell: Looking for a Material Planner from a technology, automotive, aerospace, defence, telecoms type background. This person ensures availability of equipment and products to be deployed in line with project requirements. Strong inventory management skills, good trouble-shooter and can demonstrate knowledge and experience of continuous improvement.
The Role:
As part of the Inventory, Deployment and Reverse Logistics team, we are seeking a Material Planner who will be responsible for the medium-term material plan to ensure material availability.
What you can expect to be doing:
Responsible for the medium-term material plan to ensure material availability
Liaise with the forecast and call-off teams to highlight and resolve potential material shortages
Manage inventory issues that have resulted from changes to the build schedule or from supply challenges
Review the supply and demand data to make recommendations regarding stock levels
Support the inventory team with identifying opportunities to reuse excess stock
Liaise with the warehouse manager to track warehouse inventory accuracy
Where necessary support principal contractor and supplier audits
Support the logistics team in the identification and resolution of system data issues
As required support data cleansing activities of an internal IT project enhancing the functionality of the ERP tool
Challenge the status quo, keep abreast of the external market and use this to drive improvements, continuous improvements and learning
What we are looking for:
Experienced material planner or similar role
Ability to investigate and identify corrective actions
Understanding of the financial impacts of inventory and inventory movements
Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and experience of implementing improvement activity
