Project Management Office Coordinator (Chinese Mandarin Speaking)

Location: Reading or Manchester

Full-time ongoing contract

We are looking for an energetic Project Management Office (PMO) coordinator with great communication skills to join the PMO support team. The role will support the PMO director and other senior managers in the delivery of the project management by carrying out a range of OMO functions. In particular, we are looking for people with exceptional organisational skills and attention to details. Ability to produce plans, reports and manage a small team of specialists.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  1. I) Qualifications: Degree in business management or related subject.

2) Experience:

  • 1+ year experience within project management, operation; or very good understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proven track record of managing and prioritising competing responsibilities and tasks.
  • Strong attention to details and ability to support process development and compliance.
  • Flexibility to learn new systems and implement improvement strategies on the day.
  • Teamwork centric operations, must work well with others.

3) Technical Competency: Excellent Excel skills to handle data analysis tasks, and Power Bi skill is desirable.

Key accountabilities:

PMO support

  • Manage and maintain the PMO framework, covering project standards, SOPs, project governance, and project delivery process.
  • Support PMO director and VPs in their roles to manage project under company PMP framework, and carry out internal compliance check.
  • Work and communicate closely with project team member, PM/project finance controller/TD, to make sure company project delivery management process are applied, as well as support project team in project delivery operation.
  • Ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively to a wide range of people at various levels, incl. PCM, VPs, CFO.
  • Manage a small team of specialists.
  • Work proficiency in both Mandarin and English.
  • Using Excel, MS Power BI or other Software to create reports.

  • Will have opportunities to practice and learn many skillsets surrounding the area of PMP and internal control and project delivery.
  • Will face a variety of business scenario and collaborating with teams from different function or countries.
  • Will gain hands on experience in project management process and project governance.
  • Flexible approach to work environment ie. During busy season or urgent cases may require work outside standard hours- able to cover other teammates in certain cases.
  • Will have better environment to learn telecommunication knowledge, to work with the most experienced project manager, senior management in the telecom industry.
