Mandarin Speaking Head of Technology, Beijing China - 中文技术总监

Role Overview:

Alongside the regional management of our client's industry programmes, the successful candidate will be the key strategic technology expert in the region.

The objective of the role is to engage with operator stakeholders, advocating, influencing and articulating what is needed of them technologically so that our client can achieve its programme goals.

There will be a specific focus on 5G and IoT, in which China is the largest market.

The successful candidate will therefore partner very closely with the strategic engagement function to achieve this.

Candidate Requirements:

Background:

Must be a level of seniority who can help to open doors at operators and so the candidate must be known to operators (strong network)

Must have the gravitas to influence decision making at a senior level, must be able to speak to CTOs in their language on their level

Excellent understanding of regulation and policy (what operators can and can't do, rules & regulations locally)

The candidate should be strategic technology person in a CTO mould, someone who understands the business and the future of our industry and the role technology plays within it. Must understand and articulate value chains, investment cases business imperatives and the industry's new business models.

Experience:

Must be experienced in mobile space

Should come from a P&L business, Operators, or the infrastructure side of any internet companies, must have network experience

5G and IoT expertise, must understand the technology behind 5G and IoT (e.g. LPWA technology or embedded sim technology)

Languages:

Mandarin and English speaking

Immigration status:

Must have right to work (visa/work permit/Chinese nationality) in Beijing, China

This is a permanent position and market competitive Director Package will be offered.
