LOGISTICS MANAGER

PERMANENT

MAINLY HOME / READING ONCE A MONTH

We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our busy team working for a telecoms company.

The Logistics Deployment team is accountable for the successful delivery of all equipment requirements for the shared RAN, mobile backhaul and transmission networks to Shareholder requirements and agreed time, cost and quality targets.

Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager include:

  • Responsible for management of Forward Logistics service to ensure timely ordering, delivery and reverse logistics of equipment to meet Shareholder requirements within agreed time, cost and quality targets for all projects
  • Responsible for working with commercial to create the auction process in order to maximise revenue whilst ensuring compliance to policies.
  • Responsible for working with the Shareholders, and supplier teams to develop and maintain detailed operating plan and budget for services.
  • Responsible for monitoring Fraud to ensure that our shared equipment isn't being sold through commercial channels.
  • Responsible for warranty management with the warehouse - ensuring that faulty equipment is replaced where appropriate.
  • Responsible for undertaking direct intervention to investigate underperformance, instigating recovery initiatives and intensely managing the recovery of service performance. Escalating to the Head of Logistics as required.
  • The Logistics Manager will be responsible for undertaking the validation and acceptance of services provided by suppliers, 3rd Parties and retained resources.
  • Responsible for proactively working with the stakeholders to ensure that all requirements, dependencies, risks and issues relating to services are identified, prioritised and managed.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to reverse logistics services to provide cost savings.
  • Responsible for ensuring all IFS data is accurate and data integrity is maximised to ensure all reports and decisions used most accurate data available.

The successful Logistics Manager will have:

  • Strong experience of delivering Logistics and Asset Management services to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
  • Experience of the methodologies, processes and capabilities required to deliver warehousing and distribution solutions using suppliers, 3rd parties and retained teams.
  • Experience of working as part of a broader deployment function.
  • Strong experience of motivating and managing outsource Suppliers to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
  • Awareness of managing the natural tensions between customer, commercial and technical requirements.
  • Experience of managing a team, able to coach effectively, ensuring employees best potential is achieved
