Legal Assistant / Paralegal (Mandarin Speaking)

Location: Reading

12 months or ongoing contract (Inside IR35)

We are looking for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal, who will report to the Head of Legal. The primary function of the role is to provide support services to the existing legal team and in-house legal services to the various lines of business within UK teams, including providing overall admin and secretarial support to the in-house legal team as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall support to the in-house legal and compliance teams, working closely with other lawyers and compliance professionals throughout company;
  • Providing overall admin and secretarial support to the in-house legal and compliance teams as required;
  • Managing the process of engaging external legal counsel, including interfacing with selected external lawyers;
  • Researching cases and legal/compliance information
  • Drafting and preparing some basic legal documents
  • Drafting and preparing reports, correspondence and letters
  • Document management for the legal team
  • Providing support to corporate filings and managing deadlines
  • Preparing know-how updates to the in-house legal teams
  • Liaising with contacts and stakeholders within the business as necessary
  • Participating in European-wide or Global-wide initiatives as required

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English, Mandarin speaking is highly preferred
  • Legal qualification preferred.
  • Excellent academics required.
  • Good organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Hard-working proactive approach required
  • Ability to multi-task and work according to defined priorities
  • Good personal skills, ability to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders
