Job Description

Lead Migration Architect - Contract - Hampshire

Leading managed services provider in the defence industry require an experienced Lead Migration Architect on an ongoing contract basis to work in their Hampshire offices.

**A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered**

The Lead Migration Architect will be responsible for delivering the overall migration activities across a number of areas required to facilitate a private cloud to private cloud migration within a secure environment.


They will provide technical leadership to a scrum team of architects and engineers responsible for the migration.
The Lead Migration Architect will need to 'think outside the box' in order to identify innovative yet pragmatic solutions to complex migration challenges.


Technologies Used:
* VMware
* PKI including HSM
* High level switching and routing concepts
* Micro-Segmentation

Nice to have (Architectural understanding, detailed working knowledge not required):
* Exchange
* EDRMS


The skillset:
* Previous infrastructure migration experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder services across the full scope of migration activities (Networks, Infrastructure, Security, Test, Service, etc)
* Experience of migrating and translating traditional network implementations onto micro segmentation based cloud environments
* Ability to brainstorm, problem-solve and present ideas using a variety of design thinking methods available.
* Managing and motivating a team to deliver a migration to a plan.
* Confidence in presenting challenging points of view to both internal and customer audiences
* Experience working in highly secure, mission critical environments


Beneficial skills:
* Automation techniques and tooling
* Experience of delivering and developing services using Agile (ideally using SAFe but other methodologies such as SCRUM are also useful)
* Experience structuring activities that play to a team's strengths and provide opportunities for others to grow
