I have an exciting opportunity for an IT Procurement Manager to join our busy Commercial team. We manage a large number of strategic suppliers providing anything from Managed Services, Network Equipment, Transmission, Information Technology and management of power and property suppliers.

This involves very significant spends across these categories supported by complex contracts. As a member of the Commercial function we are responsible for all Procurement and a significant amount of Vendor Management activities. We support key stakeholders like Design, Planning & Deployment, Operations, IT, Property and our shareholders, helping them to ensure our suppliers deliver what they need when they need it, developing clear strategies for the future.

The IT Procurement Manager will be responsible for functional sourcing management across set commodities, specifically around Information Technology equipment, software and services suppliers.

Provide commercial support to our business and project teams to:

• Ensure budgetary compliance
• Negotiate pricing and identify savings opportunities
• Review statements of works and contract change notes under existing framework agreements, with preferred suppliers
• Minimise commercial risks.

Responsibilities of the IT Procurement Manager also include;

• Manage the performance of your team, driving high attainment by setting stretching and challenging objectives. Continually review these and provide feedback on an ongoing basis
• Manage resources appropriately. Hire the right people with the right attitudes and ensure the mix of permanent staff and contractors is appropriate
• Be a true service provider - understand your customers needs and encourage your team to deliver a great service internally and externally
• Provide feedback and recognition across the whole organisation
• Develop, support and coach staff to shine
• Manage employee relations issues as they arise (and proactively prevent them from occurring), using the People Team where appropriate
• Ensuring the appropriate Statement of Works (SoW) templates are used
• Conducting commercial review for each SoW to mitigate and manage commercial risks
• Work with our technical / project teams to lead commercial reviews and create / lead competitive processes
• Create tenders and lead commercial negotiations using established commercial processes and ensuring you represent the strategic requirements of us and its shareholders
• Draft and award supplier contracts with support from Legal and external legal outsource supplier, as required
• Report issues and opportunities in a timely manner and manage risk appropriately
• Take ownership of resolution of contractual disputes
• Ensure contractual governance / approval mechanisms are applied and support governance meetings in line with the contract to ensure actions delivered upon
• Work with relevant vendor manager to track performance of suppliers against the contract on key contractual KPIs working and ensuring that the suppliers are delivering on all fronts
• Work with relevant stakeholders to engage with supplier contacts, ensuring agreed performance and pricing are maintained and new costs are agreed under contract as required
• Work with our technical / project teams and Managed Service Providers to ensure that our suppliers / contracts are managed effectively yielding sustained savings
• Managing the multitude of stakeholders

The successful IT Procurement Manager will have:

• Previous experience of negotiating IT contracts
• Good understanding of contract law
• Significant Supplier & Contract management experience

• Telco experience
