IP Network Support/Design Implementation Engineer

Work for a leader within the telecoms market responsible for implementing IP networks, systems and solutions necessary. Implementations for the IP, transmission and LTE infrastructure as required as per guidelines from the architecture or senior design team. Delivery of low-level designs for implementations; provide fourth line support for all aspects of the IP and LTE infrastructure and Enterprise solutions.

This company has a flexible working policy so when things get back to normal you will be in the office around 2 days a week.

What the role will be doing:

• Deliver low-level designs & implementations for various projects
• Work with vendors to ensure that the equipment and services meets requirements
• Overall system security and integrity for network systems and services
• Work with other teams to provide technical help when required
• To review Products offered to customers and propose Network developments to the Network Architects in support of commercial product development
• Provide technical assistance to all teams within the business as required
• This person will have the technical ability to implement complex designs to a high degree of accuracy. They should be able to consider all elements of a design and implement correctly and without error

Experience needed:

• Provide technical support to the IP 3rd Line team as require
• Proven depth and breadth of technical skills in the ISP space including IP, MPLS, MP-BGP, routing, switching and firewalling
• Large experience of Juniper ISP hardware, particularly MX routers and SRX Firewalls
• Proven expertise in engaging with internal customers, able to articulate complex concepts in easy to understand solutions
• Able to provide professional technical input and peer review of design documents
• Work experience within an ISP environment

Desirable skills:

• A background in telecommunications Network Design is desirable
• Experience with 3GPP technology standards a distinct advantage
• Understanding of the ITIL model
