Job Description
IoT Product Manager (Internet of Things) - Permanent - South-West London.
A global telecoms / technology company is searching for an IoT Product Manager to join their team in South-West London on a permanent basis.
Role:
- Lead the strategy and development of a robust and innovative Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, including defining platform requirements, customer experience (e.g. digital touch points, P&S, service concept) and market strategies
- Ensure the company's Internet of Things (IoT) partners' ecosystem and P&S portfolio and road-maps remain competitive
- Ensuring information about the company's IoT portfolio is clearly understood both internally and externally in the most professional and accessible way
- Assist OpCos in achieving ambitious global revenue growth targets with a competitive IoT services portfolio
- Leading the IoT ecosystem partnership and services portfolio management
- Oversee and manage the Product & Operations Team to develop and launch approved products and services
- Leading the product management efforts for IoT services, with responsibility for defining the related product road-map, business plan and product offers as well as developing critical strategies that deliver tangible business results
Responsibilities:
- Working with the OpCos IoT marketing teams to develop Group's strategic product road-map for IoT, providing regular updates and strategic analysis of the progress in achieving the road-map goals and contribute to innovation
- Negotiate commercial agreements with partners in the industry
- Managing relationships with IoT ecosystem stakeholders and to ensure road-map requirements are adopted and delivered
- Having an in depth understanding of the IoT industry including key players
- Scouting and evaluating "future proof" IoT evolutions and innovations with a "customer centric" strategic approach.
- Create a global IoT vision and coordinate the Internet of Things Go-To-Market strategies for new products as well as enhancements of existing products across OpCos
- Create and lead strategic customer presentations
- Conduct competitive landscaping and identify customer needs to drive new business opportunities and create disruptive experiences
- Conduct market analysis and opportunity assessment for current and future products aimed at maximising revenues and margins
- Lead user experience requirements initiatives, research and testing processes
- Seeking and promoting synergy and cost efficiency opportunities
- Present market requirements, trends, competitive landscape, product road-map, pricing and packaging options, cost model, and P&L to the executive team
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure roadmap requirements are adopted and delivered
- Working directly with the engineering team to align with best practices of the platform used and to draw up implementation details
- Support OpCos with product and services demonstrations, presentations and tender responses
- Simplify and reduce the sales cycle through excellent products, clear information, fast fulfilment processes and a detailed understanding of customer experience and requirements
- Communicate product status reports, assessing risk and new opportunities in each region
- Collaborate with Digital P&S leadership to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure program success
- Supporting and guiding the company's mobile operators in acquiring customers and increasing revenue in their markets
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experienced in coaching cross-functional marketing and technical teams to execute the strategy and contribute to innovation
- Experienced leader capable of influencing and inspiring cross-functional teams to challenge the norm and deliver innovative solutions
- Proven track record of delivering success stories in the IoT market - furthering performance, identifying and launching new capabilities
- Proven experience of defining and delivering outstanding, future-proof IOT services portfolio
- Proven experience of identifying and managing strategic partnerships to improve customer experience and targets
- Proven experience of delivering high impact change programs across organisations
- Ability to turn strategy into reality
- Ability to inspire people at a senior level across the business, the wider group and key external partners
- An excellent understanding of the customer and how the business can exceed their expectations
- An excellent collaborator who is comfortable taking accountability for making decisions and working in a cross functional team in an agile way
- Strong understanding of the IoT industry, products and services including device categories, features, architectures and communication protocols
- Strong commercial and operational mind-set, constantly focusing on delivering value to customers
- Having strong focus on user experience
- Ability to prioritise features related to user experience
- Proven ability to coordinate a cross-functional international team of opinionated design, technical, commercial, financial, marketing, sales and executive colleagues
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Excitement for a high-growth, fast moving environment, self-directed, entrepreneurial mind-set, sense of ownership
- Fluency in German or Italian or Swedish or Danish or Chinese Mandarin would be an advantage
- Up to 40% travel possible
