IMS and Voice Test Engineer

Recruiting immediately for a leading Mobile Network Operator based in Reading an IMS and Voice Test Engineer who will be responsible for delivering voice solutions to an operational environment.

You will be reporting to the IMS and Voice Principal Test Authority and will be a part of Core Network Test team supporting delivery of all voice domain solutions through transition including test planning, test execution, issue management and test reporting of all IMS and Voice core network solutions to our operational network.

The role encompasses integration & validation of the "current" and "future" telecommunications network, ensuring only best in class solutions are presented to our customers. As part of a team, you will work with functional stakeholders to ensure that the right responsibility levels are established - working to exercise influence without direct authority.

The candidate must have good cross functional working skills to develop and support close working relationship with the other network domains (Packet Core, IP, Backbone Transport and Radio) and partner organisations.

Responsibilities

-Ensuring the coordinated production of high quality test plans that drive our validation programs, by working with internal and external stakeholders

-You will be a test lead working with industry leading network equipment to execute tests and gather evidence for test failures, defects and test network faults.

- Categorising and resolving test failures and issues to successfully report on testing and enabling delivery to the operational network.

-Working in the test lab environment you will accountable for operational integrity of the voice core network elements assigned to you. This will include fault investigation and rectification to ensure other test programs remain on track.

-Be a key escalation point for operational issues in the voice core network provide technical support through consultation or replication within the test bed to facilitate expedited fault resolution.

Skills and Experience

Good working knowledge of the IMS and MSS core network architecture.

-Strong understanding of oice services including VoLTE and VoWiFi

-Strong understanding of signalling protocols, procedures and call flows within the IMS and MSS networks.

-Good understanding of IP and associated protocols and its uses in the voice core network.

-Good understanding of Core Network Operational Support Systems and processes.

-Demonstrable knowledge of the testing lifecycle

-Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

-Experience of deployment of network systems through the delivery lifecycle from initial design to full operational handover.

-Strong ability to work alone on technical issues.

Nice to have

-Good working knowledge of Samsung and Mavenir (Mitel) IMS products.

-Excellent knowledge of Nokia MSS platforms (MSC, MGW)

-Experience with NSN/Siemens hiS700 STP system.

-Working knowledge of the Call Control and VAS Platforms (TAS, OCS-Voice, NGIN)

-Experience in Network Virtualisation

-Vendor management skills and experience.

-Project and Design lifecycle understanding.

-Ability to travel and work from remote locations when required by the business.

-Time served experience in two of the following work areas: design, test or operations.

-Educated to degree or higher vocational education level in a Telecommunications or network discipline.
