A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing Telecoms Company in Reading as their Head of People. Working in an Agile environment you will not only lead The People Team but take responsibility for all people related activities across the business!

'The People Team' are responsible for all people related strategies and services across HR, resourcing, training & development, culture & engagement, communications and office facilities. Focusing on people and performance; ensuring that we have the right people in the right positions, with outstanding leadership driving a high performing organisation.

The People Team need a new leader!

Your Role:

  • You will be responsible for delivering strategic and BAU activities
  • As a member of the Leadership Team you will work closely with the MD and rest of the SMT
  • You will set and create the People agenda
  • Define, build and grow the company's culture: driving high performance, engagement and delivery
  • Manage and lead the people team to deliver the People agenda to ensure everyone is working towards a common goal
  • Develop people policies, frameworks and processes to support the people agenda,
  • Support the business to manage headcount and resource plans for shared, unilateral and project work
  • Lead, create and embed processes and frameworks that support our culture - such as (but not limited to) recruitment, talent management, succession planning, performance management, reward and recognition, engagement, staff social events and our office space

We are looking for someone with the following skills & experiences:

  • Previous generalist HR experience working at equivalent level or HRBP within senior management team
  • Proven track record of delivering change, ideally within a fast paced Agile environment
  • Have a sound commercial approach to identifying HR solutions
  • An interest in external market factors and industry developments, with proven experience in bringing the outside into your organisation and using this to drive improvements
  • Experience of creating and delivering people agendas that deliver business benefits
  • An excellent understanding of the health of the organisation and a passion for employee engagement
  • A proven track record in leadership, creating positive climates, articulating a vision, managing change and inspiring people
  • Excellent understanding of employment law
  • Experience of coaching and developing people to be their best; continuous improvement and how to drive high and manage high performance teams
