FTTx Health & Safety Manager
Contract
Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire/Hybrid
The SIOP Health & Safety Manager reports into the General Project Manager and advises management on all H&S related topics. Drives, within his/her project the implementation of both Client and department specific H&S SOPs. Ensures alignment with HR, Safety and Security regional H&S advisers and market leaders on H&S matters.
Responsibilities:
- Creates, updates, and maintains H&S implementation project plans.
- Tracks implementation of H&S performance within projects.
- Implements programs aligned to H&S standards and mode of operation to drive both targeted intervention and continual performance.
- Sharing and implementing the best H&S practices to/from other projects and units.
- Owns project level H&S risk planning and management. Contributes to operational project risk management.
- Identifies the need for and ensures feedback on specific Standards and SOPs to H&S FN team.
- Drives the implementation of all SOPs and global H&S standards and provides assurance that these are delivered.
- Conducts project level assurance of implementation and ensures appropriate action is taken.
- Ensures effective communication of H&S throughout the project
- Establish H&S interface with key internal and external project stakeholders to ensure that expectations are clearly understood, communicated, delivered, and reported on.
- Develops and maintains relationship between H&S and key stakeholders.
- Provides technical H&S advice to Project office on decisions relating H&S.
- Support the development, maintenance and monitor the execution of project/customer specific health & safety plan and ensure alignment with customer and suppliers' contractual requirements
- Collaborates in other Business opportunities, ensuring risk profiling, customer requirements and cost estimation is taken into consideration in final submissions to customers.
- Collaborates in the completion of initial and periodic HRPIA (High Risk project assessment) and SMA (Suppliers H&S compliance assessment) including its follow up (ensuring that all findings are reported, recorded, tracked, and acted upon).
- Supports in the definition and signature of contract with the selected suppliers.
- Develop, maintains, and execute H&S project plan in accordance with rules, Contract, Customer and Country requirements
- Ensures communication of H&S standards and guidelines to suppliers.
- Ensures project H&S Kick off and induction to project teams is provided.
- Ensures defined H&S training for relevant project team parties is undertaken
- Ensure the completion of H&S Supervision/monitoring/audit programs, including its follow up (Ensuring that findings from H&S site inspections are reported, recorded, tracked and acted upon).
- Conduct site visits and audits
- Define and ensure compliance for project PPE requirements and usage
- Reports in tools (Archer) all HS incidents in projects.
- Directs the investigation into all incidents and accidents and ensures that appropriate corrective action plans are implemented
- Collaborates in implementing Consequence Management Process
- Oversees on site compliance to H&S requirements by Site Supervisors
- Conducts H&S Performance review (share lessons learned, best practices)
- Collaborates in organizing periodic Supplier Workshop.
- Audits supplier and workers records (PPE registers, medical checks, training records etc…) are available and up to date, ensuring local compliance
- Conduct and/or attend various health & safety meetings with internal and external stakeholders and represent H&S
- Ensure usage of applicable tools, enabling the project and operational level H&S KPI reporting
- Prepare periodic report on health & safety for both internal and external stakeholders
- Arrange any third-party audit on H&S as needed
- Ensure pro-active site H&S improvement actions, by analyzing the project situation and by a close cooperation with the Project Team, Suppliers and Customer
- Produce ad-hoc reports as required by the General Project Manager
Skills Required:
- Full UK driving license
- Full and comprehensive knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Required H&S qualifications
- NEBOSH General/ Construction Certificate
- SA001 Safety Overhead
- SA002 Safety Underground
- NRSWA Supervisor level
- Highway Sector Schemes training relevant and applicable to low and high speeds roads
- Sound knowledge and experience of H&S practices for traffic management, Streetworks, excavations and underground asset avoidance.
- Knowledge of industry standards, guidance and practices for fixed networks installation and maintenance for the UK.
- Have relevant telecom experience gained in a field-based role and/or a project management role.
- Expertise and Knowledge in overhead lines on sole or shared use utility poles.
