Fibre Audit Engineer - Contract - North-West England.
A global IT services company is searching for Fibre Audit Engineers to be based in the North-West on a contract basis.
The Fibre Audit Engineers will be required to support the removal of redundant or over length fibres, re-labelling fibre, and ensuring all fibre identified on site is documented and reported to offshore colleagues to enable the update and alignment of fibre inventory systems. Once the sites have been through the audit process you will then be installing new standardised equipment. The sites will go through 3 phases (visual check, remove unused fibres, remove and replace excess length fibres).
An understanding of telecoms transmission, previous work on fibre optic cables, an understanding of typical circuit labelling, good eyesight and attention to detail, ability to work with and under supervision, good communication, OTDR, live fibre tester, fibre Microsoft.
The successful Applicants must have completed a IOSH health and Safety course. and will either have current SC Clearance or be willing to undertake Security clearance.
