Job Description

Role: E2E Test Manager

Type: 6 month contract initial

Location: Reading (Hybrid)

We are looking for experienced E2E Test Managers for one of the leading telecom clients.


  • Review and assessment of project deliverables (HLA, HLSD, BRS,TRS) to identify the correct Test approach
  • Creating, managing and executing the Project Test Strategy incorporating the involvement of internal teams and 3rd party partners
  • Creating, communicating, and gaining correct approvals of Project Test Strategies across the solution
  • Review and Approval of all Test Plans (internal and 3rd parties) within the scope of the Test Strategy
  • Managing teams both internal and 3rd parties onshore and offshore
  • Providing Test cost and effort to projects (impact assessments)
  • Review and assessment of change requests and communication of any impacts to Test approaches, schedules
  • Ensuring Requirements traceability is performed within Test Management Tools (ALM, JIRA)
  • Ensuring that stakeholders are aware of understand any impacts to areas deemed out of scope
  • Providing Test progress Reports during Test planning and execution
  • Coordination between all NW teams and collaboration with IT Test teams to ensure all teams are working as one team to deliver against the Test Strategy
  • Test escalation point (Project level)
  • Management of Test quality checkpoints (TRR/TER)
  • Identifying Test env requirements and working closely with the Environments Manager to ensure delivery
  • Coordination and management of handover meetings between Test and Ops
  • Approval of any changes/fixes/patches prior to deployment into Test env
  • Ensuring Regression test packs are produced / maintained
  • Review and management of Test KPIs
  • Monitor and control of Test schedules
  • Management and tracking of defects
  • Actively engaging with Project Managers, Technical teams and business stakeholders to understand project requirements and building a cost-effective risk-based Test approach without compromising quality
  • Ensuring Project plans include Test with dependencies and milestones
  • Attendance at Projects Demand shaping sessions to ensure inputs for Testing are covered

Skills Required:

  • Experience Test Managing projects within Telco (Core Network, RAN, IP/TRANS, OSS, Devices, IT)
  • Ideally Mobile Telco experience
  • Ability to Drive collaborative Working with multiple internal and external teams across complex solutions
  • Leading teams - direct reports and virtual teams
  • Experience in producing Rectification plans and risk-based testing approaches
  • Holds industry Test Management certification / accreditation (ISEB/ISTQB)
  • Test tools experience (automation, tracing, de-bugging, traffic generator, stubs and simulators)
  • Experience with a Variety of methodologies (waterfall, agile, DevOps etc )
  • Communication and reporting at various level within the organisation with both Technical and Non-Technical teams
  • Analysis of project deliverables requirements, designs etc
  • Aware of regulatory requirements and policies
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Experience and understanding of telco network services including Core Network, IP transport, Security, OSS
  • Flexible and adaptable cross over to Environments Management and support and ability to produce and execute Test Scripts if required
  • Working Knowledge of IT, OSS, Security and NFT testing
  • Self-starter with flexible but thorough approach
  • Strong management skills, good communication and presentation skills
