Job Description

Project People are supporting a multi-academy trust based in Suffolk. The Trust are seeking to appoint a Director of SEN from January 2020 on a permanent basis.

The multi-academy trust consists of over 20 schools, with new school in development. The Trust will be creating a network of specialist provisions working together, due to being approved to open new special schools across East England.

The successful person will be an experienced Headteacher or senior leader who has focused on SEN within a local authority setting. Your key focus will be the strategic and operational management lead for Special Educational Needs and Disability services across the entire multi-academy trust.

You will strategically lead the SEND service in all schools to ensure the trust achieves its strategic aim for children and young people with additional education needs to achieve improving outcomes and you will be a member of the trust executive team.

Working with existing and new special schools, you will focus on the development of visionary practice for pupils with SEND in mainstream schools and in the development of specialist provisions attached to mainstream schools, while securing best value from SEND funding.

You will be the specialist SEND consultant who will advise schools on their development of all SEND provision, implementation and application of government proposals.
