Security Cleared * Application Support Engineer (3rd Line)

Devops-microservices/AWS/Containers/Java and CI/CD

Start: ASAP - urgent - Need to be immediately available

Duration: Rolling 6-months

Location: Home working (but need to be local to Bracknell if needed)

Role Purpose

  • You will deliver the transition and development of a mature service, be part of an agile team setting up and maintaining the operational service of our customer's applications on AWS and within the Datacenter.
  • Work with Service management stakeholders, coach software engineers in product teams to help deliver new features that are supportable and robust in a production environment.
  • Ensure all necessary monitoring, alerting and backup solutions are in place. Using SLOs to guide prioritization putting reliability front and center.
  • Be able to understand large codebases, not afraid of programming when need to improve the service.
  • Reduced the time spent on manual tasks, incidents and internal change requests. With an aim to optimize observability of the solution and produce actionable intelligence across service categories.
  • Experience of working on a critical national infrastructure service is beneficial.

Primary technological skills required - AWS, Java (Spring/Springboot), web (html, css, Jquery, ReactJS, Javascript), XML, SCCS, JSON, Swagger, YAML, SQL, powershell, Maven, Gradle, Bash, Python for CI/CD


Good to have- Groovy/Grails, NodeJS, C#, PHP, AwareSDKs, Reactor
