Design Engineering Manager - An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineering Manager with solid experience designing passive infrastructure for Mobile Telecoms sites. You will be joining my client - a growing Telecoms Company, on a permanent basis in their offices in Reading (parking available), this position offers a competitive salary, 15% bonus plus a generous benefits package.

As Design Engineering Manager your responsibility will be to act as Technical Design Authority for all 3rd party designs of passive infrastructure, including cooling systems, for their portfolio of sites. Each site has cabinets on them with equipment inside, you will need to understand the sites and design a suitable cooling solution for the cabinets. Acting as Technical Authority you will be responsible for:

• Managing 3rd party designs, acting as Technical Lead for design queries, provide guidance and ensure design standards are being maintained
• Analyse current solutions and develop new products accordingly
• Ensure compliance in installation quality and ensure acceptable performance / fit for purpose
• Ensure H&S, environmental, business continuity and information security arrangements

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven background in designing cooling systems for Mobile Telecoms cabinets
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to manage the designs of 3rd parties and also manage shareholder groups, communicating effectively during monthly meetings
• Experience working at Design Manager / Technical Design Authority or Technical Lead level
• Risk, Issue and Dependency management
• Broad knowledge of Telecoms infrastructure equipment and suppliers
