This is an exciting time to join the organisation as they look to build out their ambitious analytics and intelligence platform, accelerate their growth, and establish being the market leader in this field.

They use AI, IoT, and other cutting-edge technologies to collect and analyse huge amounts of data about mobile network sites, their components, and their power usage. The platform takes control and optimises site behaviour (reducing CO2 emissions by 50%), identifies anomalies, and makes recommendations on how to manage and upgrade the site for peak efficiency.

The role is fully remote working with fortnightly/monthly get together's and great benefits on offer which includes share options and a bonus scheme. This company are flexible with work and family always comes first and they aim for continuous learning and improvement and support the professional development of their team in whatever ways work best.

What the role will be doing:

They ingest a huge amount of time-series data from every site they connect to, and use a variety of data science and machine learning techniques to extract insight and value for their customers. You'll be working with the software team to identify opportunities and implement solutions for providing innovative functionality on the data analytics platform, as well as extracting, analysing, interpreting, and presenting data from the dataset to help product development, business intelligence, and sales projects.

Below are some examples of projects you'll have the opportunity to tackle:

  • A full-stack sophisticated analytics platform for tower time-series data with high scale requirements (some of thier clients have hundreds of thousands of towers)
  • Researching new ways to reduce power usage at sites
  • Incorporating extreme weather and storm predictions into the platform
  • Modelling physical hardware virtually to create virtual test-beds and implementing a process to build-measure-learn rapidly on customer UX
  • Develop new visualisations and analytics for high-data density use-cases
  • Experiment with new statistical/ML approaches to meeting customer needs

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a wide range of analytics for automatically extracting insight from the data feeds
  • Collaborating with the business analysts and software engineers to design innovative solutions to the problems their clients face
  • Designing algorithms and experiments to identify new opportunities for product development
  • Processing, cleaning, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Defining, tracking, and reporting on KPIs for a variety of use-cases
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Creating reports for telling compelling stories for the clients from their data
  • Ensure you stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques, evaluating and implementing those that can help continuously improve data science
  • Conduct research, develop prototypes, and proofs of concept

Broadly, you should have:

  • Experience in data science or data analytics positions and strong Python & SQL experience
  • A strong working knowledge of data science techniques and tools
  • Experience working with time series data
  • A passion for solving interesting problems in clever, efficient ways
  • Experience visualising data and analysis
  • Good applied statistics skills
  • Experience of machine learning techniques is a plus, or a desire to learn more
