Job Description

The programme is up and running with Business, IT and Technology streams in place. A critical element of the programme will be the migration work-stream and we are now looking to recruit a stream lead to manage this key activity.

The role of the migration stream lead is accountable for defining the migration strategy and approach, testing and validating the migration approach, and managing the phased customer application migration, exception handling from As Is to To Be and any potential migration fallout and process and platform training. There is a high level of technical complexity associated with the programme and the successful candidate will need to understand and be able to communicate on a technical level with programme stakeholders.

To be successful, the role holder needs to be able to work individually and collectively with the programme team, stream leads, business owner and the Business Leadership Team. The successful candidate will have previous experience in managing complex customer migrations, be technically focused, and capable of end-to-end delivery of project within a fast paced, dynamic environment

Key accountabilities:

The migration strategy approach is critical and will be defined by the Migration Stream Lead and agreed with key internal stakeholders. It will be a priority to develop a detailed migration strategy with the internal teams and vendor subject matter experts. This can include but not be limited to data source analysis, data sanitization, data mapping and post migration review and clean up. This exercise will be done in coordination with the technology and IT streams.

Below is a sample of the data mapping to be performed by the main project vendor as part of the implementation of the new IOT connectivity management platform.

• Compile an overarching Migration Strategy
• Gather Business Requirement around Migration
• Generate a Business Continuity plan during Migration
• Oversight and Governance of data migration activities carried out by 3rd party vendors
• Data Validation & Cleaning
• Transformation of data from Jasper platform to WDH
• Import plugin adaptation for loading the data
• Test run and dry run with sample and load.
• Relevant documentation for strategy, design, plans and procedures.
• Review and recommendation remedies to outputted Data Reconciliation reports produced by 3rd party vendor
• Switchover strategy and collaboration
• Post migration support
• Oversee the transition of the new platform into operational support and BAU service.

What else are we are looking for:

• This role's primary objective is the successful delivery of the project scope agreed in the programme work package breakdown on behalf of the business owner and overall programme manager.
• Design, plan and lead the implementation of the migration workstream.
• Co-ordinate the various aspects of project governance, including facilitation of decision making, managing key forums and meetings, tracking and addressing issues and risks, tracking and reporting progress against milestones, budgets and deliverables
• Initiate extra activities and other interventions wherever gaps in programme / projects are identified and issues arise
• Prepare & deliver presentations to business owners, programme sponsors, senior management and other executives, as required
• Partner with internal and external suppliers to ensure a connected approach to programme delivery and operationalisation
• Evaluate and makes recommendations/decisions based on customer / business impacts and technical options as appropriate.

Skills and Experience:

• Data Architect with experience in large data migrations
• ETL (Extract transform and Load) experience in large data environments
• Experience in Telco and SaaS beneficial but not essential
• Ability to co-ordinate multiple stakeholders, requirements and priorities to successfully resolve issues.
• Strong project management skills, with a significant track record in all aspects of project management and implementation
• Outstanding relationship management skills with an ability and willingness to work with, lead and influence, people at all levels across the organisation.
• Energetic, flexible, adaptable, change oriented- Strong collaboration, motivational &decision-making skills
• Experience .in various tools for management, project planning & time tracking e.g. MS Project, MS Excel, MC Visio Experience in telecommunications industry desirable.
• Drives for results, has a record of success in achieving goals. Highly motivated, committed, energetic about the achievement of priorities.
• Team Working - able to build good relationships with all levels in the organisation. Works towards achievement of team goals. Adapts personal style to work in various teams.
