Job Description

An experienced Cryptography developer is required, reporting to the UK Development Manager, the developer will play a role in the transition to new architecture within the AWS cloud - join a team of developers maintaining several critical cryptography and key management applications - work closely with solution designers and system testers to produce, deliver and support changes and new functionality to Cryptography team applications defined in the delivery unit's plan, reporting progress and issues to the UK Development Manager. - produce and maintain high/low Level Designs, unit test plans and contribute to support guides. - produce, test and document all deliverables in accordance with POA development standards, code reviews and procedures. - provide 4th line support for cryptography team applications, analysing problems and delivering fixes to agreed quality standards and timescales. - assist and advise the POA Customer Services team with third line support issues. - Interfacing regularly with Global Delivery Centre in India, mentoring and improving capability and quality of code deliverables.

Primary skill set:

  • C/C++ (3-5 years minimum commercial experience)
  • Java Development (1-3 years minimum commercial experience)
  • Knowledge of high-performance key management/cryptography device configuration
  • Demonstrable knowledge of multi-threaded applications
  • Demonstrable experience in SSL Mutual Authentication implementation
  • Use of Cryptographic Service Providers (CSPs)
  • MS Visual Studio 6
  • Low-level design authoring
  • Development for Windows and Red Hat Linux
  • Understanding and use of source control/configuration management

Additional skills:

  • Developing and support in Windows 10 and Red Hat Linux 6.7
  • Experience with HPE Atalla HSM and configuration devices
  • Experience with PIN entry device firmware updating
  • Subversion
  • Atlassian JIRA
  • Providing cost estimates
  • Support of large applications in a live environment
