Biometric Application Developer - Contract - Hampshire

Leading managed services provider in the defence industry require an experienced Biometric Application Developer on an ongoing contract basis to work on-site in their Wiltshere offices.

**A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered**

The role:

• Support the test teams in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, Scripts and Tooling e.g. SOAPUI
• Support the delivery
• Work to the Security and other defined processes
• Support the transition to Service through the delivery of documentation and work instructions.

Responsible for Supporting the delivery of the following:

• BioSP SQL Database instances. Tomcat MSB. Awareness of BioSP and UIiv. Awareness of Impex and SQL SLA Reporting
• Supporting Scripting and Development
• Packaging of Products
• Unit Testing
• Performance Tuning
• Transition to Support for Applications. Audit and Event Catalogue. Application Work Instructions
• Test Phase Support. OPT, BAT, FAT, System Test, Air Gap, SIT

Skills Required

• In-depth Technical Understanding of Software Applications and Web applications.
• Problem solving skills to diagnose issues with Software Applications.
• Ability to understand and diagnose issues with complex data structures and messaging formats, including XML, SOAP, REST and JSON.
• Experience interrogating RDMS i.e. use of/understanding of SQL statements/queries.
• Scripting or Programming background.
• Knowledge/experience working on Biometric Solutions and an understanding of Biometric data structures.

Beneficial Skills

• Java Web applications such as Tomcat, JBOSS.
• Messaged based Queuing systems i.e. QPID, WMQ, Rabbit. Linux Skills.
• Use of version control systems such as Git, BitBucket. .SOAPUI/Jmeter testing of applications solutions.
