Property Counsel (Estates)

Permanent Position

Theale (Hybrid working)

This is a great opportunity to work as Property Counsel (Estates) for high profile, well-loved brand within Telecom sector, based in Theale (Hybrid). We are looking for someone with experience in renewing leases according to the Electronic Communications Code (2017) ideally. You will also manage suppliers (checking performance against targets) and work closely with the Property & Estates team. The role would report directly into the Senior Property Counsel within the Legal & Compliance Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate would be expected to rapidly build upon their knowledge of telecom leases within the role.
  • A part of the role will be in assisting with the management of these transactions through weekly counsel sessions with our legal suppliers and acquisition ADMs, reporting on the same and providing front line support to legal escalations arising in this space.
  • The successful candidate will be heavily involved in this and will require strong interpersonal and project management skills.
  • To operate project governance by use of appropriate mediums and mechanisms such as meetings, work streams and teams calls to regularly govern the project by surfacing issues, making decisions and agreeing escalations to ensure the project remains on track and targets are consistently met.
  • To regularly check-in with senior members of both the Estates and Legal & Compliance Team and provide updates on how the overall caseload is progressing.

Required Skills:

  • A qualified solicitor with experience in commercial property conveyancing from a well-regarded city / regional firm.
  • A solicitor admitted to the role with a current practicing certificate.
  • A background in practicing commercial Property Law.
  • A robust understanding of the conveyancing process (Landlord/Tenant law).
  • A keen eye for detail, as well as an enthusiastic and proactive approach.
  • Good commercial awareness with ability to deliver clear advice.
