Job Description

Network Project Support/Network Engineer (LAN/WAN/Fixed & Mobile Telecoms) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company, for an initial 4 months contract, to be based in Birmingham, West Midlands.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Must have Telecoms, Networking, LAN, WAN knowledge and experience
  • Must have Project Support Management and Team Management experience
  • Excellent client facing experience and customer service skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the entire scope of Venue Telecoms services and technologies: WAN circuit delivery, LAN networking - including switches, access points (wireless and physical), fibre and copper installations, etc., IP telephony.
  • Experience of working in a live operational support environment, including the resolution of incidents and the proactive monitoring of telecom services.
  • Manage on-site Telecoms support staff and suppliers to ensure that service levels are met or exceeded.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all Fixed and Mobile Telecoms products and services required. Ensure the Fixed and Mobile Telecoms services are deployed and tested to meet requirements.
  • Develop the allocation, management and recovery plans for each venue for Test Events, Technical Rehearsals, other Venue readiness tests.
  • Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers
  • Responsible for defining and integrating the telecoms delivery schedule
  • Proactively monitor the delivery of Telecom dependencies at your venue(s) and communicate any forecasted issues
  • Identify areas of risk and develop contingency delivery plans at your assigned venues and manage corrective actions to mitigate any slippage or change in scope, venue implementation timescales or any interdependencies.
  • Lead the venue Telecoms team, delivering team briefings and providing reporting as required.
  • Responsible for the reinstatement of any existing spaces, containment pathways and/or equipment used by Telecoms teams to deliver services
