Job Description
Job title: Legal Assistant / Paralegal (Mandarin Speaking)
Location: Reading office and UK locations as specified from time to time.
We are looking for a legal background candidate to work in a leading technology company in Reading. This is an ongoing contract position.
The primary function of the role is to provide support services to the existing legal team and in-house legal services to the various lines of business, including provide overall admin and secretarial support to the in-house legal team as required.
What you will do:
Ø Responsible for overall support to the in-house legal and compliance teams, working closely with other lawyers and compliance professionals
Ø Provide overall admin and secretarial support to the in-house legal and compliance teams as required
Ø Manage the process of engaging external legal counsel, including interfacing with selected external lawyers
Ø Researching cases and legal/compliance information
Ø Drafting and preparing some basic legal documents
Ø Drafting and preparing reports, correspondence and letters
Ø Document management for the legal team
Ø Provide support to corporate filings and manage deadlines
Ø Preparing know how updates to the in-house legal teams
Ø Liaising with contacts and stakeholders within the business as necessary
Ø Participating in European-wide or Global-wide initiatives as required
The ideal candidate:
Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ø Legal qualification preferred
Ø Excellent academics required
Ø Good organisational skills and high attention to detail
Ø Hard-working proactive approach required
Ø Ability to multi-task and work according to defined priorities
Ø Good personal skills, ability to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders
