FAST P Engineer
Contract
Location-Remote
I am currently undertaking a Search for a FAST P Engineer role for a leading client. Candidates will require relevant experience with a proven track record working at this level.
This engineering role reports directly to the FAST-P solution owner and will work very closely with the FAST-P development team to support the development and maintenance of the FAST-P and Crown / AVS x86 Services.
The responsibilities of the role are to:
- Technical Support of the FAST-P and Crown x86 VMware platforms at an infrastructure through to software level.
- Provide advice and guidance to the FAST-P teams about enhancing, supporting and maintaining the FAST-P and Crown x86 services.
- Support the FAST-P development and CST teams during issues and fault resolution
- Support the FAST-P Solution Owners strategy
- Provide technical consultancy based on expertise around VMware Cloud (vRealize) suite of the products.
- Be accountable for ensuring that any guidance or solutions created in this role are viable and have internally been approved.
- Ensure that technical solutions deliver in line with the prevailing commercial pressures within the account.
Skills - Mandatory
- Be proficient in the configuration and support of the VMware vCloud suite of products (vRA, vROp & vRO)
- Excellent vSphere Knowledge
- Microsoft 2008R2, 2012 & 2016 server administration
- Active directory administration
- Excellent problem analysis, problem solving skills
- Experience working in a Technical support team
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical support to the FAST-P portal service including hands-on, and architectural support.
- Work closely with the FAST-P architecture team to enhance and expand the FAST-P and Crown x86 offerings
- Manage incident resolution, accountable, within SLA
- OOH working, potentially short notice
- Work with 3rd parties, vendors and manage relationships
- Problem Solving. Records job changes and work requests through problem management systems ensuring effective change control. Deals with escalations from the team obtaining information required to diagnose and resolve a variety of complex technical and non-technical problems. Analyzes statistics and initiates action when necessary to improve system availability.
- Training. Develops and implements training needs analysis to ensure the development of required skills for the business. May train other team members.
